Description
Author: Graham Woodward
Size: A4
100pp with over 200 illustrations, mainly in colour.
The book looks at the history and development of the Meadows area of Nottingham over the last 200 years. Originally a large area of wetlands to the south of Nottingham, in 50 years the area went from an idyllic rural pasture covered in crocuses, grazed by sheep and cattle, to an overcrowded suburb prone to flooding. Redevelopment in the 1970s changed it beyond recognition.
The book looks in detail at the area’s development, the buildings, the streets, and its industry.
